Responsibilities

• Manage all maintenance aspects of the operation during shift, including preventative maintenance and repair of vehicles.
• Oversee maintenance and utility staff to ensure contractual requirements are achieved.
• Handle daily, weekly, monthly, and annual reporting responsibilities.
• Manage the maintenance program budget.
• Train and develop maintenance staff in collaboration with the Fleet Manager.
• Run day-to-day operations of the maintenance facility.
• Maintain expertise in air conditioning systems, transmissions, electrical diagnosis, emission control systems, and wheelchair lifts.
• Respect and maintain confidentiality of non-public customer and business records.

Requirements

• Ability to prioritize, implement, and manage work schedules, projects, and assignments.
• Experience tracking and controlling parts inventories, vendors, and suppliers.
• Proficiency in managing financial and accounting aspects of a fleet maintenance operation.
• Strong written and oral communication skills for all staff levels.
• Computer skills, including word processing, spreadsheets, and Microsoft Outlook.
• Technical competence in heavy diesel vehicle repair and preventive maintenance.
• Demonstrated initiative, professionalism, candor, and tact.
• Diesel experience preferred.
• ASE certified truck or school bus preferred.
