Sheriff's Office - Digital Records Specialist
Success
Adheres to the statutory requirements for the access and dissemination of all criminal justice records and all legal issues associated with dissemination.
Processes and coordinates all incoming subpoenas, and open records requests (CCJRA/CORA) for the Sheriff’s Office in accordance with the required time lines.
Uploads misdemeanor and traffic video evidence to the DA’s office through their e-portal.
Collects money for processing open records requests, or dissemination of any digital video evidence.
Able to handle numerous tasks at one time and be able to complete each task with accuracy.
Maintains confidentiality of information consistent with applicable federal and state laws.
Retains inventory, storage and retention of digital records and evidence media.
Audits digital records and evidence media to ensure proper categorization and retention.
Catalogues, copies, reproduces, redacts, cuts, dubs and distributes digital records and evidence media using computer software and web applications in accordance with department policies and procedures.
Electronically enters, retrieves, reviews or modifies data; verifies accuracy of entered data and makes corrections; utilizes word processing, database, or other computer programs.
Provides technical support to department personnel, attorneys and community members in the review of released or transferred digital media.
Compiles data for periodic reports of digital media inventory, ensuring completion by specified deadlines and in accordance with established goals and objectives.
Makes decisions regarding the disposition of digital media based on review of court disposition orders, statutes of limitations and records retention policies.
Testifies in criminal or civil court or other public hearings to verify the integrity of digital records and evidentiary media collected or protocols followed for collection and redaction in order to authenticate such media.
Qualifications
- Proficient in Data Entry
- Experience in Law Enforcement or Criminal Justice is preferred
- Must be able to work shift
- High School Diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's Degree is preferred
- Experience in customer service
- Experience in digital records and evidence media
