About the role

Sexy Roman, situated in the W Hotel, is a provocative modern Italian restaurant offering a playful balance of artisanal, hand-crafted Italian cuisine within an electrifying atmosphere. We are seeking a Line Cook to work at stations including Garde Manger, Fry, Sauté, and Grill in a fun, vibrant, and high-end space.

Responsibilities

• Handle a high-volume atmosphere while maintaining the highest level of quality and consistency in each dish and ingredient.
• Keep up with business needs within the restaurant and support the service team to meet guest requirements in a timely manner.
• Maintain professional appearance and behavior at all times, including strong knife skills.
• Read, understand, and execute prep lists and POS tickets.
• Ensure kitchen cleanliness, FIFO, and adherence to all safety, food service, and storage measures.
• Execute and maintain quality and consistency of food with full adherence to recipes, timing, and company standards.
• Follow, maintain, and adhere to all kitchen schedules, par lists, prep lists, and opening/closing procedures.
• Demonstrate warmth, empathy, and hospitality while maintaining a positive attitude.
• Work flexible hours, including overtime, weekends, special events, holidays, and irregular shifts, with availability for afternoon and evening dinner shifts.

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of fine-dining restaurant or hotel cooking experience.
• Experience at Garde Manger (raw bar, cold appetizers, pastry plating), Fry (vegetables, proteins), Sauté (pasta, vegetables, protein, seafood), and Grill (meats, poultry, seafood, vegetables) stations.
• High school graduate or equivalent vocational training certificate; college degree preferred.
• Serve Safe Certified.
• Ability to remain calm and resolve problems using good judgment.
• Punctual, reliable, and detail-oriented with strong communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively and follow written and verbal instructions.
