ServiceNow Architect
Accountabilities
The ServiceNow Architect will act as the technical authority for an enterprise ServiceNow environment, providing architecture leadership, governance, and design oversight. The role focuses on building scalable, secure, and upgrade-compatible solutions while supporting ongoing platform improvements and operational excellence.
Lead the overall technical architecture, design strategy, and long-term sustainability of the ServiceNow platform.
Provide architectural leadership for new implementations, enhancements, integrations, workflows, and complex platform configurations.
Ensure solutions follow ServiceNow best practices, including out-of-the-box capabilities, safe-scoped development, Flow Designer automation, and upgrade-compatible design approaches.
Oversee architecture for key ServiceNow modules, workflows, integrations, and data models, including alignment with the Common Service Data Model (CSDM).
Conduct and participate in architecture reviews, design evaluations, and peer reviews to maintain platform quality and consistency.
Advise product owners and leadership teams on technical feasibility, risks, dependencies, and architectural impacts.
Define and enforce platform governance standards, including role-based access controls, configuration management, and development practices.
Support ServiceNow integrations using approved frameworks and enterprise standards.
Participate in technical meetings with stakeholders to provide guidance, recommendations, and progress updates.
Support incident management, root cause analysis, and long-term remediation initiatives.
Contribute to technical documentation, architecture diagrams, compliance materials, and authorization-related documentation.
Collaborate with administrators, developers, project leaders, and stakeholders to ensure solutions are secure, scalable, and operationally sustainable.
Requirements
- Extensive ServiceNow architecture experience
- Strong technical leadership capabilities
- Proven experience designing secure, scalable, and upgrade-compatible ServiceNow solutions
- Strong understanding of enterprise IT service management practices and ITIL-based processes
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with technical teams, business users, and leadership stakeholders
- U.S. Citizenship required
- Preferred experience supporting federal agencies or large enterprise environments
- Preferred experience with Authority to Operate (ATO) documentation, compliance activities, and government technology governance
- Preferred ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA) certification or additional advanced ServiceNow certifications
