Service Writer

About the role

If you’re looking to make a difference with one of the world’s largest equipment rental providers, this is your chance to join the United Rentals team as a Service Writer. You’ll be responsible for a variety of administrative duties, including work order completions, technician time tracking, warranty recovery, and preventive maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Work Order Completions: Open and close work orders with accurate information
• Technician Time Reporting: Record all paid hours available for work accurately and on time
• Warranty Recovery: Ensure all tasks eligible for warranty are created and submitted for review
• Preventive Maintenance: Run reports and schedule work to maintain fleet currency
• Customer Inquiries: Handle equipment maintenance issues with urgency and keep management informed
• Service Invoices: Properly code and submit all service-related invoices
• Other Duties: Perform other tasks as assigned

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record
• 1-2 years experience in a shop or service environment
• Basic computer skills
• Attention to detail
• Ability to multi-task in a busy environment
• High sense of urgency with respect to customer service
• Superior customer service, teamwork, and communication skills

Pay

The starting pay rate for this position ranges from $24.05 to $36.05 per hour, depending on various factors.
