Senior Technical Project Manager - CRM

The Sr Technical Project Manager specializes in managing CRM marketing service technical initiatives, working closely with cross-functional Technical Services and Engineering teams—both internal and client-side—to manage resources, schedules, and quality standards for data-driven technical solutions. This role supports key client accounts within a portfolio, partnering with clients and client services counterparts to deliver successful, profitable client outcomes.
The Senior Project Manager leads end-to-end delivery of client-facing projects, ensuring execution against scope, schedule, budget, and quality expectations. They establish project governance, drive cross-functional planning, and manage stakeholder communication and risk as the primary owner of delivery from initiation through closeout.
Responsibilities
- Define project scope, work breakdown structure, and schedule; organize and lead project status and working meetings; prepare and distribute progress reports; manage risks, dependencies, and issues; correct deviations from plans; and perform delivery planning for assigned projects.
- Assist in team development, hold teams accountable for commitments, remove roadblocks, and leverage organizational resources to improve capacity for project work.
- Support the Product Owner in managing customer expectations, stakeholder communications, and implementing effective project governance.
- Define and manage a well-defined project management process and champion ongoing process improvement initiatives for Agile Project Management.
- Promote team empowerment, ensure full engagement of team members, and encourage a sustainable pace with high-quality output.
- Lead fact-gathering sessions to capture current and future state processes and mitigate risks.
- Manage project documentation and capture requirements from all functional stakeholders.
- Lead cross-functional meetings, provide project status updates, and drive open issues to resolution.
- Present status updates on a portfolio of initiatives and own issue resolution.
- Analyze, recommend, and drive process and program improvements across functional teams.
- Manage projects for on-budget deliveries and drive issue resolution to ensure timely launches.
- Proactively manage client pod delivery programs, communicating status, issues, and risks to client services, clients, and internal teams.
- Maintain project management core practices: change requests, issue logs, risk mitigation plans, escalation management, decision tracking, and postmortems.
- Ensure adherence to agreed-upon delivery methodologies to minimize project risks.
Qualifications
- Solid understanding of software development life cycle models and expert knowledge of both Agile and traditional project management principles.
- Experience with CRM, Email, SMS, CDP, and Enterprise-Level PPM software (e.g., Jira, Grenhopper, Rally, VersionOne, Resource Guru), Microsoft Project, Visio, and Office Tools.
- Operations and technical project delivery experience with a database agency or technology company.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to translate complex issues into easily understandable terms.
- Strong initiative and ability to manage multiple projects across various stages of the project life-cycle.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills focused on educating, coordinating, and leading interdisciplinary teams.
- Demonstrated experience in developing and rolling out business and operational processes.
- Ability to interface effectively with team members from all functional disciplines and senior management.
- Ability to set expectations regarding scope, timeline, and quality of deliverables.
- Creative problem-solving skills with a focus on details while maintaining a big-picture view.
- BA/BS or equivalent experience required; MA/MS is a plus.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, with experience interacting at all levels, including senior leadership.

Pay
The total compensation range for this role is $140,000 - $200,000, depending on location and experience.
