Senior Technical Project Manager
About the role
Join our Program Management team within Akamai Information Technology, a group of industry-leading professionals dedicated to owning and driving the innovation of Akamai's Corporate Infrastructure, Applications, Development, Security, and Compliance. You will have end-to-end accountability for the delivery of strategic, cross-organizational programs, reporting benefits to Executive Sponsors and Governance Boards.
Responsibilities
- Lead program definition, planning, scope, and execution of assigned programs, managing health status to anticipate risks and/or issues and implement mitigation plans.
- Define integrated program plans, including detailed work breakdown structures and deliverables required for program success.
- Identify dependencies and interdependencies between programs; scope, size, and lead implementation of transformation or growth opportunities.
- Drive stakeholder alignment and communicate program status to executive sponsors and governance forums.
- Work independently and comfortably in ambiguous circumstances to create clear paths forward for teams.
- Adopt best-practice guidelines to influence and implement continuous improvements to PMO processes.
Requirements
- 8 years of relevant experience and a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Professional experience as a Project Manager or Program Manager in an IT organization.
- Sufficient technical background to provide credibility to technical teams and objectively evaluate risks and issues.
- Experience working on projects or programs supporting Enterprise Applications.
- Experience managing external implementation providers.
- Solid leadership, coaching, and interpersonal skills, with excellent presentation and communication abilities.
- Proven track record of stakeholder management and leading effective communication across senior leadership and technical teams.

Pay
For US-based candidates, the base salary for this position ranges from $119,600 to $215,400 per year. Compensation is determined by relevant work experience, skills, certifications, and location. Candidates outside the US will receive compensation that varies by region.
