Job Summary
General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA-ASI) is a world leader in remotely piloted aircraft and tactical reconnaissance radars. This position supports business units through subcontract support, including source evaluation, selection, and administration of subcontracts.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provides subcontract support to one or more business units
- Responsible for source evaluation, source selection, and terms and conditions for the procurement of materials, equipment, and services
- Responds to complex inquiries requiring innovative solutions
- Prepares, analyzes, and evaluates bids and proposals to ensure compliance with company policy and department operating procedures
- Negotiates terms and conditions of non-disclosure and teaming agreements
- Maintains awareness of regulatory changes and their impact on subcontracts
- Represents the organization as the primary subcontract administrator on assigned subcontracts
- Provides direction and training to assigned professional staff
- Participates in the selection, development, and training of subcontract staff
- Works independently and as part of a team; capable of representing the organization as a prime contact on subcontract matters
Job Qualifications
- Typically requires a bachelor's degree in business administration with an emphasis in supply chain management, contract administration, or a related discipline, along with fifteen or more years of progressive professional experience
- Equivalent professional purchasing, subcontract, or contract administration experience may be substituted in lieu of education
- Comprehensive and thorough understanding of acquisition principles, theories, concepts, and regulations
- Ability to counsel management, provide leadership in developing and communicating new concepts; organize, schedule, and coordinate multiple work phases; determine the appropriate approach at the task or project level
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD clearance (Secret)
- Customer-focused, ability to develop innovative solutions to a variety of unusually complex problems, excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills, excellent interpersonal and leadership skills, excellent computer skills, working knowledge of SAP, ability to work independently and as part of a team, capable of representing the organization as a prime contact on subcontract matters with program management, vendors, and customers, and provide leadership to less experienced professional employees on projects
- Professional certification in subcontract administration is desired
