Job Summary
General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA-ASI) is a leading provider of remotely piloted aircraft and tactical reconnaissance radars. This position involves providing subcontract support to various business units, including source evaluation, selection, and administration of subcontracts.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepares, analyzes, and evaluates bids and proposals to ensure compliance with company policy and departmental procedures.
- Identifies and addresses subcontract issues, providing leadership in developing solutions.
- Selects or recommends subcontractors, issues awards, and administers resulting subcontracts.
- Negotiates terms and conditions of non-disclosure and teaming agreements, reviewing drafts as necessary.
- Advances contractual rights and obligations, providing review and interpretation of terms and conditions.
- Represents the organization as the primary subcontract administrator on assigned subcontracts, making internal and external presentations as required.
- Maintains awareness of regulatory changes and their impact on subcontracts.
- Provides direction and training to assigned professional staff.
- Selects, develops, and trains subcontract staff.
- Observes all laws, regulations, and other applicable obligations.
- Works safely according to established operating procedures and practices.
Qualifications
- Typically requires a bachelor's degree in business administration with an emphasis in supply chain management, contract administration, or a related field, along with ten or more years of progressive professional experience.
- Equivalent professional purchasing, subcontract, or contract administration experience may be substituted in lieu of education.
- Comprehensive and thorough understanding of acquisition principles, theories, concepts, and regulations.
- Ability to counsel management, develop innovative solutions to complex problems, communicate effectively, lead teams, represent the organization, and work independently.
- Working knowledge of SAP is desirable.
- Professional certification in subcontract administration is desired.
