Senior Specialist, Benefits and Authorization - Specialty Operations

About the role

This position is responsible for processing benefit verification or authorization responsibilities for all new referrals with expected speed and quality. You will assist with everyday individual peer training alongside the lead specialist and support the Supervisor with escalating issues or CMC needs when the lead is out.

Responsibilities

• Process benefit verification or authorization for all new referrals with speed and accuracy.
• Assist the AVA Supervisor and Manager with special assignments as needed.
• Assist the lead specialist with team quality audits.
• May assist with new hire onboarding and the interview process.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Minimum of two years of experience in a related field, with at least one year in a medical/healthcare role involving benefit and/or authorization with multiple payor types.

• Ability to multi-task and support numerous referrals/priorities simultaneously.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• High degree of self-discipline in maintaining productivity expectations.
• Detail-oriented with a strong focus on quality.
• Ability to navigate and train others on multiple payor portals.
• Ability to engage peers positively.

Preferred Qualifications

• Healthcare/medical billing experience preferred.

Pay

Salary to be determined by the applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. Pay range is $19.16–$31.92 per hour.
