About the Role

The HRConnect Senior Benefits Specialist is a key part of AbbVie’s Human Resource (HR) Operations group supporting the HRConnect delivery model. This role is responsible for supporting US benefits administration, including partnering with vendors and the Benefits Center of Excellence (COE) to resolve Tier 2/3 benefit issues and advocacy for employees related to health care issues.

Responsibilities

  • Provide Tier 2 & 3 support for escalated health and welfare issues not resolved by external vendors, the AbbVie Benefits Center, or the HRConnect service center. Support includes employees, retirees, and their dependents in the United States.
  • Contribute to HRConnect, HR Operations, and Benefits COE initiatives, projects, and goals, including annual Benefits Open Enrollment and other implementations.
  • Support benefits enrollment and administration for international relocations and global assignees.
  • Provide data/documentation as required for plan audits and other projects as assigned.
  • Manage issues and data problems with vendors who provide services to active and retired employees.
  • Keep management informed of vendor performance issues or potential employee impacts.
  • Train and oversee less experienced and more junior employees.
  • Manage employee death processing related to notification of vendors, Workday updates, and other external notifications needed.
  • Health Benefit support includes employees, eligible dependents, and retirees in the U.S.
  • Contribute to HRConnect initiatives, projects, and goals.
  • Other responsibilities, activities, and projects as assigned.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • 3 to 5 years of Benefits experience.
  • Excellent business writing and oral communications skills.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proficient user of MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment and contribute independently.
  • Self-directed and able to handle large, concurrent projects with minimal supervision.

The compensation range for this role is based on the job grade and may vary depending on geographic location. Individual compensation will be determined by factors such as location and experience. This range may be modified in the future.
