Senior Project Engineer - Weld

Role Overview Support early feasibility studies and develop department-specific project strategies, themes, and control items using SAP based on Project A00. Coordinate departmental build activities, manage maturation of systems, equipment, processes, and training through T Stage build events, and assist in mass production start-up planning and support. Key Responsibilities Review Weld Department business plans aligned with Honda's vision and set targets linked to schedules.Investigate impacts of new manufacturing technologies and specifications.Coordinate and support drawing reviews, virtual builds, and design reviews; mentor project teams on weld-specific characteristics to ensure manufacturability.Manage design change impacts, evaluate project reports, and track pending items for timely closure.Lead feedback sessions, support weekend and shutdown builds, and oversee department reflection activities post-mass production start-up.Maintain regular meetings to review SAP statuses with project and production teams, monitor progress on equipment, standards, and training. Qualifications & Skills Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent experience.Over 5 years of relevant experience.Proficiency in 3D modeling (preferably CATIA), knowledge of Honda design systems, and cost management skills. Additional Requirements Ability to lift 20 lbs and operate vibrating hand tools.Willingness to travel, work weekends, and shifts as needed.
