Senior Project Engineer - Weld

About the role

Supports early feasibility studies and develops project strategies, control items, and coordination of departmental build activities. Manages the maturation of equipment, processes, and training through T Stage build events, ensuring smooth mass production startup.

Responsibilities

• Review business plans, understand future goals, and set targets linking schedules and objectives.
• Investigate new manufacturing technologies and specifications.
• Coordinate drawing reviews, virtual builds, and mentor project teams on weld characteristics for manufacturability.
• Manage design change impacts, evaluate project progress, and report on evaluations.
• Support build activities, loss planning, and build order confirmation.
• Track pending items, mentor teams for timely resolution, and lead feedback sessions.
• Assist with weekend and shutdown builds, and department reflection activities post-mass production start.
• Maintain regular meetings to review progress and monitor key activities like equipment delivery and standard development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.

Skills

• Proficiency in 3D modeling (preferably CATIA), Honda design systems, and cost management.
