About the role

Lead the development and implementation of solutions to global technical services issues and concerns regarding EDC tools like Medidata RAVE or Oracle Inform, data/report programming, or visual analytics tools like Spotfire or Tableau. Develop and validate custom/complex SAS/SDTM datasets, handle external data and reconciliations, and perform post-production changes to EDC databases or enhancements to SAS programs such as edit checks, listings, protocol deviations, and SAS datasets. Conduct peer review and quality control of study design for assigned projects.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and implementation of clinical solutions for global technical services issues related to EDC tools or SAS programming.
  • Develop visual analytics dashboards using tools like Spotfire or Tableau.
  • Complete assigned work using Medidata Rave, Oracle Inform, or other proprietary software according to Fortrea SOPs, work instructions, and project-specific guidelines in compliance with Good Clinical Practices.
  • Perform post-production changes to EDC databases or enhancements to SAS programs, including edit checks, listings, and protocol deviations.
  • Act as Subject Matter Expert (SME) and primary contact for technical services and issues related to EDC tools or SAS programming.
  • Serve as Lead Statistical Programmer, providing support for development and maintenance of SDTM/client standards datasets.
  • Develop and validate custom/complex SDTM domains and handle external data and reconciliations.
  • Implement SDTM automation, standardization, and best programming practices to enhance quality and productivity.
  • Plan, execute, and oversee all programming activities on a study, including resource estimation, timelines, quality assurance, and client interaction.
  • Exhibit strong analytical, testing, troubleshooting, error-fixing, and documentation skills.
  • Participate in ongoing process reviews to adapt best practices.
  • Conduct peer review and quality control of study design for assigned projects.
  • Work independently and take initiative to accept new challenges in clinical programming applications, including software validation.
  • Maintain awareness of new developments in EDC products to improve system efficiency.
  • Forecast resources and allocate activities to team members on projects.
  • Proactively identify trends, generate reports/metrics, and demonstrate programming processes to sponsors or auditors as required.
  • Assist with the design of eCRFs and other study documents.
  • Perform all other duties as needed or assigned.

Requirements

  • University or college degree (life sciences, health sciences, information technology, or related subjects preferred). Experience and/or education plus relevant work experience equating to a bachelor’s degree will be accepted in lieu of a bachelor’s degree.
  • Fluent in English, both written and verbal.
  • Fortrea may consider relevant and equivalent experience in lieu of educational requirements.

Qualifications

  • 5 to 8 years of relevant work experience, including data management, database support, SAS programming, or Spotfire/Tableau development.
  • Good problem-solving skills and a proactive approach.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Basic knowledge of the clinical trial process, data management, biometrics, and systems applications to support operations preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment and independently under supervision.
  • Proven interpersonal skills.

Pay

$80,000–$95,000 USD
