About the role
The Weitz Company is seeking a Senior HR Generalist to support their Mission Critical business unit. This role plays a crucial role in building the company's culture, enhancing the employee experience, and supporting project teams.
Responsibilities
- Partner with business unit leadership to support day-to-day HR needs and build strong, trusted relationships
- Serve as a trusted advisor to leaders on employee relations matters, including investigations, performance management, corrective action, and conflict resolution
- Counsel employees on career path and development opportunities, establish policies/procedures, and other HR related matters
- Collaborate with management to identify employee development opportunities
- Facilitate and implement employee enhancement initiatives including staff recognition, mentorship program, training initiatives, new employee onboarding, and new hire check-ins
- Facilitate the offboarding process including separation details and conducting exit interviews
- Aid and coach managers on performance reviews, ongoing performance management, and delivering clear, actionable feedback
- Facilitate employee relocations by collaborating with HR team, project teams, employees, and relocation vendor to ensure a seamless transition
- Provide day-to-day HR support to employees
- Maintain accurate personnel records and HRIS data
- Track applicable state and local compliance updates
- Ensure timely, thorough, and well-documented case management and employee records
Requirements
- Experience: 5+ years of experience in an HR role with strong emphasis in employee relations
- Demonstrated experience handling complex workplace investigations, performance management, and corrective action processes
- Proven ability to coach and consult with leaders through sensitive or high-impact employee situations
- Preferred degree in HR, business management, or related field
- SHRM-CP or PHR certification
- HR experience in the construction or manufacturing industry is a plus
