About the role

The Weitz Company is seeking a Senior HR Generalist to support their Mission Critical business unit. This role plays a crucial role in building the company's culture, enhancing the employee experience, and supporting project teams.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with business unit leadership to support day-to-day HR needs and build strong, trusted relationships
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to leaders on employee relations matters, including investigations, performance management, corrective action, and conflict resolution
  • Counsel employees on career path and development opportunities, establish policies/procedures, and other HR related matters
  • Collaborate with management to identify employee development opportunities
  • Facilitate and implement employee enhancement initiatives including staff recognition, mentorship program, training initiatives, new employee onboarding, and new hire check-ins
  • Facilitate the offboarding process including separation details and conducting exit interviews
  • Aid and coach managers on performance reviews, ongoing performance management, and delivering clear, actionable feedback
  • Facilitate employee relocations by collaborating with HR team, project teams, employees, and relocation vendor to ensure a seamless transition
  • Provide day-to-day HR support to employees
  • Maintain accurate personnel records and HRIS data
  • Track applicable state and local compliance updates
  • Ensure timely, thorough, and well-documented case management and employee records

Requirements

  • Experience: 5+ years of experience in an HR role with strong emphasis in employee relations
  • Demonstrated experience handling complex workplace investigations, performance management, and corrective action processes
  • Proven ability to coach and consult with leaders through sensitive or high-impact employee situations
  • Preferred degree in HR, business management, or related field
  • SHRM-CP or PHR certification
  • HR experience in the construction or manufacturing industry is a plus
