Senior Human Resources Generalist
About the role
The Senior Human Resources Generalist supports the implementation of HR services, programs, and initiatives within assigned business units, including employee and labor relations, performance management, leader development, engagement, compensation, benefits, wellness, talent acquisition, and workforce planning. This role includes supporting the development and implementation of local strategic HR initiatives that enable business outcomes, consulting, coaching, and counseling frontline leadership on performance and conduct issues, leading internal workplace investigations and the complaint/grievance process, ensuring compliance with HR policies and regulatory requirements, participating in Labor Relations activities, managing local onboarding and facility orientation programs, supporting team member leave of absence/return to work coordination, and other duties and/or projects as assigned.
Responsibilities
- Supports the implementation of all HR programs and initiatives within assigned business units, including employee and labor relations, organization development, talent management, performance management, leader development, engagement, benefits, wellness, talent acquisition, workforce planning, and compensation.
- Supports the development and implementation of local strategic HR initiatives that enable business outcomes.
- Consults, coaches, and counsels frontline leadership in the day-to-day management of team member and labor relations issues.
- Supports and coaches team members on performance and conduct issues.
- Develops and manages positive team member relations programs in collaboration with key stakeholders to keep a pulse on team member engagement and identify opportunities to continuously improve the work environment.
- Led internal workplace investigations and the complaint/grievance process for assigned business units.
- Ensures compliance with HR policies and regulatory requirements for assigned business units.
- Participates in Labor Relations activities (where applicable), including labor management meetings, grievances, and training.
- Manages local onboarding and facility orientation programs.
- Supports team member leave of absence/return to work coordination at the facility level.
- Other duties and/or projects as assigned.
Qualifications
- Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
- Bachelor's degree in a related area or equivalent years of related HR experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant HR experience inclusive of a minimum of 3 years of experience in employee relations and conducting complex investigations.
- Knowledge of local, state, and federal laws and regulations governing employment.
- Effective leadership, team building, and change management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient computer skills that include but are not limited to Google Suite and/or Microsoft Office platforms.
- Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred:
- Working knowledge of HRIS/EMR systems such as PeopleSoft/Workday.
- Ideal candidate should have working knowledge of talent management, benefit and compensation administration, and legal compliance requirements.
- Experience in managing projects.
- Licenses and Certifications Preferred:
- HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, SPHR).
