About the role
The City of Simi Valley is seeking a Senior Human Resources Analyst with expertise in Employee Relations to join their HR team. This full-time, regular position is available on October 5, 2026.
Responsibilities
- Leads employee relations with confidence — skilled in resolving sensitive issues, conducting thorough investigations, and guiding departments through performance, conduct, and workplace concerns.
- Possesses strong knowledge of labor and employment law — ability to interpret MOUs, apply policies consistently, and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Excells in conflict resolution — brings a calm, objective, and solutions-oriented approach to difficult conversations and high-stakes situations.
- Serves as a member of the negotiations team, supporting labor negotiations.
- Communicates with clarity and tact — ability to deliver difficult messages professionally and translate complex HR concepts into practical guidance.
- Conducts classification and compensation analysis — experience evaluating job duties, preparing recommendations, and presenting findings to leadership.
- Bridges the gap between HR and other City departments — ensures alignment and collaboration across teams.
- Models professionalism and integrity — maintains confidentiality, exercises sound judgment, and upholds the City’s values in every interaction.
- Delivers engaging training — experience creating easy-to-understand training sessions that make complex HR topics clear and immediately useful for employees and supervisors.
Requirements
- Education/Training: Equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in human resources, public administration, business administration, organizational development, or a related field.
- Experience: Four years of increasingly responsible human resource management experience, including two years of supervisory experience, preferably in the public sector.
- Experience working with an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) System or HRIS System is highly desirable.

Pay
- Salary Range: $109,888 to $134,412 + Excellent Benefits
- Generally, salary placement is at the beginning of the salary range.
- Advanced placement may be granted depending on related education and experience.
Schedule
- 9/80 work schedule with alternating Fridays off is available.
