Senior Electrical Aircraft Technician - H125 FAL

Airbus Helicopters is seeking a Senior Electrical Aircraft Technician to join the H125 Final Assembly Line team in Columbus, MS. You will perform work on assigned aircraft or parts in the avionics function, including fabrication, repair, and installation of aircraft parts, maintenance and repair of helicopters, and support of helicopter-specific programs.

You will be part of a team focused on quality, productivity, and efficiency, ensuring the highest standards of care and safety in each aircraft assembled and maintained. The role involves assembly, installation, repair, or replacement of aircraft electrical/electronic components and systems in manufacturing, as well as functional checks of components.

Responsibilities

• Perform assembly, installation, repair, or replacement of aircraft electrical/electronic components and systems in manufacturing.
• Maintain close working relationships with leads regarding schedules, priorities, parts, supplies, tools, and special instructions.
• Work from blueprints, sketches, vendor and service manuals, and other source data to obtain dimensions, locations, alignment, tolerances, and other specifications.
• Use standard and specialized hand tools, power equipment, measuring devices, and test equipment to complete assignments.
• Ensure completed work complies with FAA regulations, customer requirements, and company specifications.
• Coordinate with various departments regarding materials, supplies, equipment, and job schedules.
• Complete forms and records related to assigned work.

Requirements

• Minimum of six (6) years of experience working on avionics in aircraft, preferably rotorcraft.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and diagrams, and apply standard shop practices in fabrication and repair.
• Able to independently assess wiring issues and install components.
• Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
• Familiarity with common aviation tooling.
• US Person under ITAR definition (U.S. Citizen, green card holder, or person covered under existing ITAR license).

Physical Requirements

• Onsite: 98% onsite.
• Vision: Able to see and read computer screens, electronic equipment, documents, reports, and engineering drawings daily.
• Hearing: Able to participate in conversations in person and via teleconference or phone, and hear sounds on the production floor, including safety warnings or alarms daily.
• Speaking: Able to speak in conversations and meetings, deliver information, and participate in communications daily.
• Equipment Operation: Able to operate office equipment (computer, telephone, copier, fax) and some production tools, including hydraulic lifts daily.
• Carrying: Able to carry documents, tools, drawings, and electronic equipment up to 60 lbs/27 kg daily.
• Lifting: Able to lift documents, tools, drawings, and electronic equipment up to 60 lbs/27 kg daily.
• Pushing/Pulling: Able to push and pull small office furniture and some equipment/tools daily.
• Sitting: Able to sit for long periods in meetings or while working on a computer daily.
• Squatting/Kneeling: Must be able to bend, stoop, and squat; move freely in areas with moving aircraft and parts; and work in areas with exposure to chemicals and fumes daily.
• Standing: Able to stand for discussions in offices or on the production floor daily.
• Travel: Able to travel independently and at short notice, several times yearly.
• Walking: Able to walk through office and production areas, including uneven surfaces, daily.

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required: Safety shoes, safety glasses, hearing protection, respirators/masks, and/or protective gloves as required by site or customer. Steel-toed shoes are required for all shop floor visits.
