Airbus Helicopters is seeking a Senior Aircraft Electrical Technician to join the H145 Final Assembly Line team in Columbus, MS. You will perform work on assigned aircraft or parts in the avionics function, including fabrication, repair, and installation of aircraft parts, maintenance and repair of helicopters, and support of helicopter-specific programs.
About the role
As a Senior Aircraft Electrical Technician, you will perform assembly, installation, repair, or replacement of aircraft electrical/electronic components and systems in the manufacture, maintenance, or refurbishing of aircraft, as well as function checks of components.
Responsibilities
- Maintain close working relationship with assigned lead person regarding schedules, priorities, availability of parts, supplies, tools, and special instructions.
- Perform work from blueprints, sketches, vendor and service manuals, and other source data to obtain dimensions, locations, alignment, tolerances, and other specification requirements.
- Use a variety of standard and specialized hand tools, power equipment, measuring devices, and test equipment in completing work assignments.
- Ensure completed work complies with FAA regulations, customer requirements, and company specifications.
- Coordinate with various departments regarding requirements for materials, supplies, equipment, and job schedules.
- Complete forms and records pertaining to the completion of assigned work.
- Independently assess wiring issues and install components.
Requirements
- Minimum of six (6) years of experience working on avionics in aircraft, preferably rotorcraft.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and diagrams, and apply standard shop practices in the fabrication and repair modifications of aircraft structures and repairs.
- Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
- Familiarity with common aviation-type tooling.
- US Person under ITAR definition (U.S. Citizen, green card holder, or person covered under our existing ITAR license).
Physical Requirements
- Onsite or remote: 98% Onsite
- Vision: Able to see and read computer screens, electronic equipment, documents, reports, and engineering drawings; read wire numbers.
- Hearing: Able to participate in conversations in person and via teleconference or phone; hear sounds on the production floor, including safety warnings or alarms.
- Speaking: Able to speak in conversations and meetings, deliver information, and participate in communications.
- Equipment Operation: Able to operate personal computers, telephones, copiers, fax machines, and related office equipment; use electronic identification cards; operate some production tools such as hydraulic lifts.
- Carrying: Able to carry documents, tools, drawings, and electronic equipment up to 60 lbs/27 kg.
- Lifting: Able to lift documents, tools, drawings, and electronic equipment up to 60 lbs/27 kg.
- Pushing/Pulling: Able to push and pull equipment and tools.
- Sitting: Able to sit for long periods in meetings or while working on a computer.
- Squatting/Kneeling: Must be able to bend, stoop, and squat; move freely in areas with moving aircraft and parts; work in areas with exposure to chemicals and fumes.
- Standing: Able to stand for discussions in offices or on the production floor.
- Travel: Able to travel independently and at short notice; several times yearly.
- Walking: Able to walk through office and production areas, including uneven surfaces.
- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Safety shoes, safety glasses, hearing protection, respirators/masks, and/or protective gloves as required by site or customer site. Steel-toed shoes are required for all shop floor visits; appropriate hearing/eye protection may also be required.
