Senior Aircraft Technician - Mechanical (H145 FAL)
Airbus Helicopters is looking for a Senior Aircraft Technician (Mechanical) to join the H145 Final Assembly Line team in Columbus, MS. You will perform work on assigned aircraft or parts in the mechanical function, including fabrication, repair, and installation of aircraft parts, maintenance and repair of helicopters, and support of helicopter-specific programs.

Location
Columbus, MS, is home to our Helicopter manufacturing and assembly lines and the Center of Excellence for the entire North America region. Here, we produce the UH-72A Lakota Helicopters for the U.S. Army and the H-125 aircraft for civil and commercial customers.
Responsibilities
- Maintain close working relationship with assigned lead person regarding schedules, priorities, availability of parts, supplies, tools, and special instructions.
- Perform work from blueprints, sketches, vendor and service manuals, and other source data to obtain dimensions, locations, alignment, tolerances, and other specification requirements.
- Use a variety of standard and specialized hand tools, power equipment, measuring devices, and test equipment in completing work assignments.
- Ensure completed work complies with FAA regulations, customer requirements, and company specifications.
- Coordinate with various departments regarding requirements for materials, supplies, equipment, and job schedules.
Requirements
- Minimum of six (6) years of experience as an aviation mechanic.
- An A&P license is preferred but not required.
- Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, sketches, diagrams, and apply standard shop practices in the fabrication and repair modifications of aircraft structures and repairs.
- US Person under ITAR definition (U.S. Citizen, green card holder, or person covered under our existing ITAR license).
Physical Requirements
- Onsite or remote: 98% Onsite
- Vision: Able to see and read computer screens, electronic equipment, documents, reports, and engineering drawings, including wire numbers.
- Hearing: Able to participate in conversations in person and via teleconference or phone, and hear sounds on the production floor, including safety warnings or alarms.
- Speaking: Able to speak in conversations and meetings, deliver information, and participate in communications.
- Equipment Operation: Able to operate office and personal electronic equipment, as well as some production tools such as hydraulic lifts.
- Carrying: Able to carry documents, tools, drawings, and electronic equipment up to 60 lbs/27 kg.
- Lifting: Able to lift documents, tools, drawings, and electronic equipment up to 60 lbs/27 kg.
- Pushing/Pulling: Able to push and pull equipment and tools.
- Sitting: Able to sit for long periods during meetings or while working on a computer.
- Squatting/Kneeling: Must be able to bend, stoop, and squat; move freely in areas with moving aircraft and parts, including exposure to chemicals and fumes.
- Standing: Able to stand for discussions in offices or on the production floor.
- Travel: Able to travel independently and at short notice, several times yearly.
- Walking: Able to walk through office and production areas, including uneven surfaces.
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
- Required PPE includes, but is not limited to, Safety Shoes, Safety Glasses, Hearing Protection, Respirators/Masks, and/or Protective Gloves as required by site and/or customer site.
- Administrative positions require steel-toed shoes for all shop floor visits; appropriate hearing/eye protection may also be required.
