Senior Director, Head of GTM and Commercialization LAC, Visa Direct

About the role
Visa Direct is a set of solutions that Visa provides to facilitate money movement across cards, accounts, and wallets, addressing market needs through a variety of use cases (e.g., P2P, B2B, B2C). This role is a rare opportunity to be part of building a new ecosystem in the fast-moving world of payments and one of the primary growth pillars in the LAC (Latin America and Caribbean) business.
Based in a market support center, this role reports to the Head of Visa Direct Global Commercialization and works closely with the Head of Visa Direct LAC. The role holder will lead a team focusing on regional go-to-market (GTM) and commercialization, collaborating with multiple functions across the organization and market teams across LAC.
This position requires a unique combination of cross-border and domestic money movement expertise, including market and product expertise, problem-solving ability, flexibility with rapid changes, intellectual curiosity, and attention to detail. A strong candidate will have solid experience in transaction banking, real-time payments (RTP), financial institutional sales, product management, business analysis, coordination, change management, and a proven track record in driving product commercialization in highly regulated markets.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute Go-To-Market (GTM) plans for Visa Direct, including sizing, pricing, narratives, distribution channels, building awareness, and driving product usage.
- Define market plans for Visa Direct with a specific focus on target markets and solutions.
- Implement strategy through product development, collaboration with sales teams, and platform design improvements relevant to LAC.
- Serve as a subject matter expert, developing knowledge on new solutions, customizing them for local markets, and establishing industry best practices.
- Act as a thought leader and influencer in solution development, managing the initial deployment cycle, articulating value propositions, sizing opportunities, and mobilizing internal teams.
- Lead business analysis and project management for new solution rollouts, ensuring tight deadlines and executive accountability are met.
- Recommend and coordinate product and platform design improvements for LAC, translating market needs into the global platform development roadmap.
- Manage stakeholder interactions, ensuring successful execution of product-related tasks and meeting associated deadlines.
- Serve as a people leader, promoting transparency, ethical behavior, and talent development to deliver Visa Direct’s regional and global objectives.
- Occasionally participate in client pitches, sales cycles, and critical product launches as a subject matter expert.
Visa requires at least 3 days in-office per week; specific expectations will be confirmed by your hiring manager.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
- 12 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree, or at least 10 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g., Masters/MBA/JD/MD), or a minimum of 5 years of work experience with a PhD.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 15 or more years of experience with a Bachelor’s Degree, or 12 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g., Masters, MBA, JD, or MD), or a PhD with 9+ years of experience.
- Minimum 15 years of work experience with a bachelor’s degree and/or 12 years with an advanced degree.
- At least 5 years of experience leading financial institution (FI) sales teams.
- Extensive knowledge of Transaction Banking and Correspondent Banking.
- Expert-level product management experience, including strong analytical skills to identify gaps in product offerings and lead solution development.
- Strong acumen in product commercialization, including GTM strategy development for new business lines.
- Experience managing a client portfolio and achieving measurable sales targets.
- Experience in cross-border remittance operations and foreign exchange.
- Experience managing regulatory requirements, KYC, and compliance processes.
- Knowledge of Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Payments Risk & Fraud Products, and Sanction Screening is desirable.
- Experience working in a global organization.
- Proven track record as a seasoned salesperson driving outcomes and achieving sales targets.
- Additional financial industry experience in cash management or treasury technology is a plus.
Pay
For roles located in the US, the estimated salary range for this position is $194,700 to $340,800 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, experience, and location. This position may also be eligible for bonus and equity.
