About the role

The Global Transaction Tax team within Alvarez & Marsal comprises seasoned tax professionals with extensive experience in advising corporate and private equity clients throughout the transaction lifecycle. This team integrates with A&M professionals to provide tailored tax advice and solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate an understanding of complex tax concepts and apply tax knowledge to client situations.
  • Develop and deliver quality tax planning approaches with timely and responsive services and work product meeting or exceeding client expectations.
  • Perform due diligence including reviews of tax returns, financials, and other tax documentation to assess potential tax risks and opportunities.
  • Review and comment on tax aspects of financial models and purchase agreements.
  • Coordinate with state and local tax team members, as well as financial and operational due diligence team members, to produce high-quality integrated work products.
  • Develop and maintain client relationships.

Qualifications

  • CPA, JD (with a bachelor's degree in accounting preferred), Masters in Taxation, or LLM.
  • At least 9 years of relevant experience in a mergers & acquisitions tax practice at a Big 4 firm, Big Law firm, or similar firm.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting and financial reporting.
  • Excellent writing, analytical, research, Excel, and organizational skills.
  • Effective communication, presentation, project management, and business development skills.
  • A strong sense of personal motivation and ability to work collaboratively.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic, time-sensitive environment.

Employees also receive paid time off such as vacation, personal days, sick time, federal holidays, and parental leave. The salary range is $175,000 - $225,000 annually, with a discretionary bonus program based on individual and firm performance.
