About the role

The ideal candidate will have 10+ years' experience in general business and transactional work with closely held businesses, as well as first chair M&A experience. Partial or full book of business preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Provide legal advice and representation to clients in a variety of business transactions and matters.
  • Lead and manage complex transactions, including mergers and acquisitions.
  • Develop and maintain a strong client base within the Ohio and Kentucky markets.
  • Collaborate with other attorneys and support staff to deliver comprehensive legal services.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines effectively.

Requirements

  • JD degree from an ABA-approved law school.
  • Admitted to practice law in at least one of the following jurisdictions: Ohio, Kentucky, Indiana, or Tennessee.
  • At least 10 years of relevant experience in corporate and transactional law.
  • Experience in first-chair M&A work is highly desirable.
  • Excellent academic credentials.
  • High ethical standards and strong professional conduct.
  • Strong writing, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Strong project management skills.

  • Passionate about serving clients in the banking, financial services, business, education, energy, health care, insurance, manufacturing, real estate, and public sector industries.
  • Proven ability to handle a diverse caseload and manage multiple priorities.
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Commitment to maintaining high ethical standards and professional integrity.

Skills

  • Strong negotiation and advocacy skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software.

Pay

The salary for this position will be determined based on several job-related factors, including background, experience, and education, consistent with applicable law.
