Make a difference, grow your career, and provide expert consulting services on Lab Information Systems (LIS) projects for clients using platforms such as Oracle Health/Cerner, SCC Soft, Sunquest, WellSky, Orchard, and Apex.
Responsibilities
- Guide clients through current workflows, upgrades, system changes, enhancements, and ongoing system maintenance.
- Act as a consultant for client solutions, including troubleshooting, consultation, and knowledge transfer.
- Cultivate and sustain client relationships to provide appropriate escalation of issues, solution knowledge, and engagement support.
- Resolve escalated problems and complex client concerns using solution expertise.
- Perform test script execution and participate in unit and integrated testing.
- Apply technical expertise to client system builds to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve problems.
- Serve as a subject matter expert in LIS domain areas and mentor client project teams.
- Track and document work performed, adhering to status reporting expectations.
- Work closely with project leadership to document issues and facilitate solutions.
- Analyze and monitor workflows, providing optimization suggestions and documentation.
- Lead meetings regarding project status and coordinate ongoing work products.
- Support, configure, upgrade, maintain, and implement business or clinical applications.
- Engage in evaluation and testing of new technologies with an emphasis on interoperability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional internal IT teams and vendors to troubleshoot technical and functional issues.
- Ensure system changes follow change management procedures and maintain documentation for assigned applications.
- Develop, plan, and execute testing for supported applications.
- Identify opportunities for improvement in existing or new information technology to drive client value.
- Maintain strong communications with project leaders, managers, team members, end-users, and vendors.
- Represent the company at corporate functions to meet prospective consultants and strengthen client relationships.
- Work on business operations projects or other corporate initiatives as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent healthcare and technical experience.
- 3+ years of hands-on practical build and implementation experience within at least one LIS solution (e.g., SCC Soft, Sunquest, WellSky, Orchard, Apex).
- Experience with domain validation, package testing, application break/fix resolution, and system design/build/testing.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Highly organized with the ability to multitask and maintain focus on individual tasks.
- Self-starter capable of meeting deadlines and monitoring work product.
- Highly adaptable to new project assignments, work environments, teams, client policies, and travel arrangements.
- Aptitude for mentoring and guiding others.
- Ability to stay ahead of rapidly changing technologies and interface system components effectively.
- Strong work ethic, treating others with respect, integrity, and professionalism.
Schedule
- Up to 100% travel required, with flexibility dependent on client engagements.
- Must be accessible and available to perform work functions at any time, including nights and weekends as needed.
