Responsibilities
- Prepares for clinical procedures and safely operates perfusion equipment while monitoring patient physiology according to established policies and procedures.
- Participates in the Vanderbilt Cardiovascular Perfusion Technology Program (CVPT) through clinical, didactic, and simulation instruction.
- Researches through academic collaborations, data collection, and analysis, and publishes findings.
- Develops or enhances quality standards in cardiovascular perfusion that promote patient safety and protection.
Requirements
- Demonstrated mastery of medical terminology and documentation.
- Ability to maintain equipment, products, or systems without requiring support and instruction from others.
- Knowledge of cardiopulmonary perfusion knowledge in challenging and complex situations.
Qualifications
- Certified in Cardiovascular Perfusion - American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion.
- Licensed Clinical Perfusionist - Tennessee.
- Relevant work experience: 5 years.
- Graduate of an approved discipline-specific program.
