About the role

The Cardiopulmonary Perfusionist, under the supervision of the Chief Cardiopulmonary Perfusionist or authorized designee, is responsible for the setup of and the safe operation of the cardiopulmonary bypass machine, intra-aortic balloon pump, autologous blood collection machine and associated equipment, as needed, during cardiac surgery or related cardiovascular operative procedures.

Responsibilities

• Setup and operate the cardiopulmonary bypass machine, intra-aortic balloon pump, autologous blood collection machine and associated equipment, as needed, during cardiac surgery or related cardiovascular operative procedures.

Requirements

• Current certification in Cardiopulmonary Perfusion from the Board of Cardiovascular Anesthesiology (BCA).
• Current registration with the California Board of Medical Practice.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a health-related field.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in a hospital setting.
