Senior Business Development Manager
About the role
Veolia's Water Technology Business is seeking a Business Development Manager to drive commercial growth in the Chemical Process Industry (CPI) segment. Reporting to the Vice President of Sales, this role is remote and involves leading sales and account management for assigned territories.
Responsibilities
- Drive new business development and revenue growth through strategic market analysis
- Identify and capitalize on opportunities to increase profitability
- Conduct competitive analysis to capture greater market share
- Negotiate and close deals that generate sustained revenue
- Develop and nurture relationships from initial concept through project completion
- Manage client contracts ensuring compliance and exceptional satisfaction
- Lead client meetings, presentations, and professionally resolve service issues
- Execute process engineering deliverables aligned with contracted design criteria
- Prepare and coordinate designs, studies, reports, and proposals
- Collaborate across multidisciplinary project teams
- Optimize opportunities across Veolia organizations
Qualifications
- Education & Experience: Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Chemical, Industrial, Mechanical), Biology, Chemistry, or related field OR High School Diploma/GED with 4+ years in Water Treatment/Water Process industry
- 15+ years of progressive sales experience with proven success in complex business transactions, pricing, and project finance
- 5+ years in refinery, chemical plant, or water/wastewater treatment environments
- Demonstrated expertise in technical and proposal writing
- Track record of managing proposals through commercial closure
- Strong knowledge of water and process treatment methods and principles
- Familiarity with REGAGEP standards (ISA, API, etc.)
- Exceptional organizational skills with ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines
- Detail-oriented with excellent communication abilities
- Self-motivated with proven ability to inspire and lead others
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite
Requirements
- Willingness to travel within assigned territory
- Ability to reside in assigned region or near customer locations
- Comfortable working in industrial environments with appropriate safety equipment
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record
- Ability to pass stringent drug testing and background checks

Compensation - The salary range is tied to the market for similarly benchmarked roles. The range is not an absolute, but a guide, and offers will be based on the individual candidate’s knowledge, skills, experience, and market conditions, as well as internal peer equity. Depending upon all the preceding considerations for the final selected individual candidate, the offer may be lower or higher than the stated range: $ 145K -165K annually. This role also includes a 25% sales incentive plan (SIP).
