About the role

Convergint is seeking a full-time, enthusiastic, results-driven, and forward-thinking Security Technician to join their dynamic team. This role involves installing, programming, system start-up/check-out, certifying, and customer training on assigned projects, including small or less complex projects.

Responsibilities

  • Install, program, test, repair, and service a variety of systems and equipment, including security, fire alarm & life safety, and building automation.
  • Provide technical support and training to customers, ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Interpret manuals, schematics, and wiring diagrams to repair equipment and operate systems.
  • Demonstrate equipment, commission new systems, analyze performance, and identify malfunctions.
  • Write routine programs for systems and consult with engineering personnel to resolve unusual problems.
  • Communicate potential project risks and suggest improvements to management.
  • Coordinate with the Project Manager and/or Operations Manager on specific projects, and recommend ways to improve customer satisfaction.
  • Perform other duties as requested or required.

Qualifications

  • Exceptional customer focus and ability to work under pressure.
  • Willingness to learn technical skills and/or experience related to fire alarm systems and electronic security systems.
  • Solid mechanical and electrical aptitude, including the use of various hand and power tools.
  • A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to travel locally to jobsites on a regular basis, with minimal overnight travel.

Requirements

  • High School/GED or equivalent experience.
  • 1-3 years relevant field service experience.
  • CCURE, Genetec, DMP, Lenel experience/certifications preferred but not required.

Pay

The anticipated compensation for this position is $27.06 - $39.23 per hour. Individual pay rates will vary based on the job, department, and location, as well as the applicant's skills, experience, certifications, specific licenses, and education.

Schedule

Local travel to jobsites on a regular basis, with minimal overnight travel.
