About the role

Convergint is seeking a full-time Security Technician to join their dynamic team. Key responsibilities include installing, programming, system start-up/check-out, certifying, and customer training on assigned projects.

Responsibilities

  • Install, program, test, repair, and service a variety of systems and equipment including security, fire alarm & life safety, and building automation.
  • Provide technical support and training to customers, ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Interpret manuals, schematics, and wiring diagrams to repair equipment and operate systems.
  • Demonstrate equipment, commission new systems, analyze performance, and identify malfunctions.
  • Write routine programs for systems and consult with engineering personnel to resolve unusual problems.
  • Communicate potential project risks and suggest improvements to management.
  • Coordinate with Project Manager and/or Operations Manager to ensure continuous improvement in customer satisfaction.
  • Perform other duties as requested or required.

Requirements

  • Exceptional customer focus and ability to work under pressure.
  • Basic programming experience and 1-3 years of relevant field service experience.
  • High School/GED or equivalent experience.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to travel locally to jobsites on a regular basis.

Qualifications

  • Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude.
  • Works with a variety of hand and power tools such as drill, screwdriver, wire stripper, hacksaw, crimper.

Skills

  • Technical skills related to fire alarm systems and electronic security systems.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work well with direct supervision.
