Security Officer Patrol Focus
About the role
Join Allied Universal as an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a government location, where you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help reduce security-related incidents, and deliver outstanding customer service and communication.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and/or members of the public by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government location.
- Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and communicating with site contacts and/or local public services as needed.
- Conduct regular and random patrols throughout buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help to deter unauthorized activity and report unusual conditions.
- Monitor access points and help to verify authorized entry for staff, visitors, and contractors in accordance with site protocols and assigned post orders.
- Support day-to-day operations by providing directions, answering questions, and reporting maintenance, life-related, and other security-related concerns to the appropriate personnel.
Requirements
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- A guard card and/or license is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
Qualifications
- Must pass a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Must pass a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licenses are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
Skills
- Customer service skills.
- Ability to respond calmly to emergencies.
- Knowledge of site-specific policies and procedures.
- Ability to conduct patrols and monitor access points.
