Security Officer - Part Time Unarmed Patrol Readiness

Pay Rate: $23.36 / hour

Overview

This is a Security Officer – Part Time Enhanced position in Ashburn, VA, offering a flexible, dependable option for individuals looking to supplement their income, gain hands-on experience, or work toward a full-time career with the industry leader. The role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility to earn more by picking up additional shifts.

Schedule

• Saturday, 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM (day shift)
• Fixed-Shift Commitment ("Anchor Shifts"): A designated site and weekly shift that serves as a reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: Additional shifts may be picked up through the scheduling platform to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites.
• Ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build up to a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week, with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to tenants, visitors, contractors, and/or client representatives by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a commercial real estate location.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of building interiors, exterior grounds, parking areas, access points, and perimeter areas, reporting observed security-related concerns.
• Monitor access activity and verify visitor, vendor, and contractor authorization in accordance with site-specific procedures.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner; document observations and notify appropriate personnel as directed.
• Help deter unauthorized activity and maintain a professional presence while supporting a welcoming environment for occupants and visitors.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws. Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.

Preferred Qualifications

• CPR certification is preferred.
• CPR/First Aid certification is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• A Guard Card or license is preferred.
