Security Officer Part Time Unarmed Patrol Preparedness

About the role

As a Part-Time Unarmed Patrol Security Officer in Norfolk, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in industries such as aerospace and defense. You will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to deter incidents, and support a secure environment for personnel and operations. This role offers flexibility to build a schedule that works for you through our Claim a Shift platform.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to personnel, visitors, and contractors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations calmly and professionally, following established reporting and escalation protocols.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of facilities, access points, restricted areas, parking areas, and the perimeter to deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access control points and visitor activity, verify credentials as required, and report suspicious conditions or policy violations.
• Document patrols, incidents, and security-related observations accurately and communicate relevant information to site leadership and Allied Universal supervision.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Preferred qualifications: CPR and First Aid certification, Guard Card or license.

Pay

$19.95 per hour.

Schedule

• Thursday: 09:30 PM – 05:30 AM
• Friday: 09:30 PM – 05:30 AM
