Security Officer Mall Patrols

About the role

As a Security Officer Unarmed Site Circuits in Paramus, NJ, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. Join a leading team where flexibility meets opportunity.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to tenants, shoppers, and/or visitors by following site-specific procedures, access guidelines, and emergency response protocols for a retail location.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and/or critical situations in a calm, professional, and problem-solving manner, and communicate relevant details to management and/or emergency personnel when needed.
• Conduct regular and random foot patrols throughout common areas, corridors, entrances, parking areas, and the perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Monitor activity across the property and report maintenance issues, policy violations, suspicious behavior, and/or other unusual conditions according to site procedures.
• Support a welcoming environment by assisting with directions, answering general questions, and documenting daily activities, incidents, and/or observations in a clear and timely manner.

Requirements

• Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Possession of a guard card and/or license is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer and/or tablet is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.

Qualifications

• Minimum qualifications for unarmed roles: Valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
• Minimum qualifications for armed roles: Possess a valid driver’s license and meet additional licensing requirements.

Skills

• Ability to follow site-specific procedures, access guidelines, and emergency response protocols.
• Proficiency in computer and/or tablet usage.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Effective communication and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to conduct regular patrols and report issues.
