Security Officer Patrol

About the role

As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a shelter location in Buffalo, NY, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, and support a welcoming environment for residents, visitors, and staff. You will provide exceptional customer service, communicate clearly, and report security-related concerns.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to residents, visitors, staff, and/or service providers by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random foot or vehicle patrols throughout the shelter location and perimeter to help identify and report unusual activity, property concerns, and policy violations.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established reporting and escalation procedures.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity in accordance with site requirements, helping to maintain an orderly environment for residents and staff.
• Document patrols, incidents, observations, and daily activities accurately and communicate relevant information to site contacts and Allied Universal leadership.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws. Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

$18.63 / hour

Schedule

• Part-time
• Daytime shifts: Monday and Tuesday, 07:00 AM - 01:30 PM
