About the role
As a Healthcare Security Officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol assigned hospital areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, and support a welcoming environment for patients, visitors, and staff. You will respond to security-related concerns, assist with sensitive situations, and deliver exceptional service through clear communication, teamwork, integrity, and a caring, people-first approach.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to patients, visitors, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including situations involving patients, visitors, staff, and healthcare operations.
- Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned areas, entrances, parking areas, and the perimeter; working environments and conditions may vary by healthcare location.
- Monitor access points and assist with visitor management in accordance with site-specific policies and procedures.
- Document and report incidents, observations, and unusual activity to the appropriate personnel.
Requirements
- Possess at least one year of security-related experience.
- Be willing to receive required hospital vaccines.
- Be willing to work in a hospital morgue.
- Be able to restrain individuals as needed.
- Possess at least two years of service in a healthcare or medical-related field.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
