Security Officer Full Time Unarmed Patrol Access Services

About the role

As a Full Time Unarmed Patrol Access Services Security Officer in Santa Monica, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in industries such as Retail/Malls. You will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to deter security-related incidents, support access control, and assist visitors with professionalism.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to shoppers, tenants, visitors, and/or employees by carrying out site-specific procedures, policies, and emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout retail common areas, storefront corridors, parking areas, and the surrounding perimeter to help identify and report unusual activity or maintenance concerns.
• Respond to incidents, customer concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, escalating matters according to site-specific procedures.
• Monitor access points, observe activity within assigned areas, and document security-related incidents, observations, and daily activities in required reports.
• Assist with directing visitors, providing information, and supporting a welcoming retail environment while maintaining awareness of security-related conditions.

Requirements

• At least 6 months of security-related experience is required.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Comfortability using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Access control or badge experience is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
