Security Officer Full Time Unarmed Patrol Access

About the role

As a Full Time Unarmed Patrol Access Security Officer in Chicago, IL, you will serve and safeguard clients in industries such as Healthcare. You will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to deter incidents, support access control, and provide exceptional customer service and communication. Your role contributes to a welcoming environment for patients, visitors, and staff while responding to security-related concerns.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to patients, visitors, staff, and/or vendors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities in a healthcare setting.
• Respond to incidents, medical emergencies, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established site protocols.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout the facility, entrances, parking areas, and perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity and identify potential concerns.
• Monitor access points and report unusual activity, hazards, and/or maintenance concerns to appropriate personnel.
• Complete required activity reports and communicate observations, incidents, and follow-up needs to Allied Universal leadership and site representatives.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of security-related experience.
• At least 21 years of age (18+ for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles).
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Subject to a background investigation and drug screen as a condition of employment.
• Licensing requirements vary by state/local laws and may be required prior to employment.
• Valid driver’s license required for driving positions only.

Preferred Qualifications

• Customer service experience.
• Access control and badge experience.
• Ability to lift more than 20 pounds.

$20.60 / Hour
