About the role

As an Access Control Officer with Allied Universal, you will help maintain a welcoming, controlled campus environment by monitoring entry points, verifying access credentials, and communicating professionally with students, staff, visitors, and campus partners. You will remain visible, respond to access-related concerns, and help deter incidents through attentive observation and teamwork. Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors by carrying out site-specific access control procedures, policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Monitor access points and verify credentials for authorized entry to campus buildings, facilities, and restricted areas.
• Control visitor access by maintaining visitor logs, issuing appropriate credentials, and providing directions or assistance as needed.
• Respond to incidents, access concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established procedures.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned buildings, access points, and surrounding areas to help identify and report security-related concerns.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• Subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
