Security Officer Checkpoint Operations

About the role

As a Security Officer Checkpoint Operations in Accomac, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in industries such as Food/Beverage. You will monitor entry points, verify access, conduct routine patrols, and maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents. You will support loss-prevention efforts, communicate professionally with employees and visitors, and contribute to a welcoming environment at a food and beverage production location.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and drivers by carrying out site-specific access-control procedures, policies, and emergency response activities.
• Monitor entry and exit points, verify credentials, manage visitor and contractor sign-in processes, and maintain accurate access records.
• Control access for deliveries and outbound shipments, communicate with receiving and shipping personnel, and report unauthorized access attempts or unusual activity.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established site procedures and notifying appropriate personnel.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of access points, parking areas, and the facility perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.

Requirements

• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Loss prevention experience is preferred.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Note: At this site there are limited on-site facilities such as portable toilets and rustic guard shacks.

$16.71 / Hour

• Thursday: 08:00 AM - 04:00 PM
• Saturday: 08:00 AM - 04:00 PM
• Sunday: 08:00 AM - 04:00 PM
