About the role

As an Armed Patrol Officer at a government corrections location, you will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and respond professionally to evolving situations. This part-time, driving post requires a valid driver’s license and offers flexible scheduling through our Claim a Shift platform.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to staff, residents, visitors, and authorized personnel by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities within a correctional government location.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, medical emergencies, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established post orders and reporting requirements.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols of assigned buildings, grounds, perimeter areas, access points, and parking locations to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
  • Monitor access to restricted areas, verify credentials, maintain visitor and vehicle logs, and report suspicious activity, policy violations, and hazardous conditions to appropriate personnel.
  • Prepare clear, accurate incident reports and daily activity documentation; maintain professional communication with agency personnel, law enforcement, emergency responders, and Allied Universal leadership.

Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • An Armed Guard Card or License is preferred.
  • A valid Firearms Permit is preferred.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • Applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.

  • Thursday: 05:45 AM - 06:00 PM
  • Friday: 05:45 AM - 06:00 PM

Pay

$21.50 / hour
