As an Armed Security Officer at a government location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, and support a welcoming environment for visitors and staff. Position Type: Part Time
Pay Rate: $22.00 / Hour
What You'll Do
- Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and members of the public by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including contacting appropriate personnel and/or emergency services as directed by site procedures.
- Conduct regular and random patrols of government facility grounds, public areas, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help identify and report unusual activity, hazards, or policy concerns.
- Monitor access points and visitor activity in accordance with site-specific procedures, maintaining accurate logs and reporting unauthorized access concerns.
- Prepare clear, accurate incident and daily activity reports and communicate observations to Allied Universal leadership and designated site contacts.
Minimum Requirements
- Possess an armed guard card or license.
- Have at least 6 months of armed security-related, law enforcement, or military experience.
- A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
- Be comfortable using a computer or tablet preferred.
- Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
