About the Role

At NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital, security officers do more than patrol facilities and campuses—they take part in amazing stories. Security Officers serve and inspire with acts of service and integrity, maintaining a visible front-line security presence to protect patients, visitors, employees, and property across medical and academic campuses. Responsibilities include maintaining access control in assigned areas, responding to emergency situations, and helping maintain a lawful environment for lifesaving care. This position requires Saturday and Sunday/holiday coverage.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a visible front-line security presence for the Hospital.
  • Protect patients, visitors, employees, and property across medical and academic campuses.
  • Maintain access control in assigned areas.
  • Respond to emergency situations.
  • Help maintain a lawful environment for lifesaving care.

Requirements

  • Current NYS Security Guard License.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Completion of Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification required within 90 days of starting in role.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree, military experience, or 2 years of collegiate coursework in criminal justice or a related field.
  • Prior work experience as a Security Guard.
  • Valid Driver’s License.

Pay

Salary Range: $30.02/hourly.

Schedule

This position requires evening shifts and coverage on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays.

All roles require on-site presence, so employees should live within a commutable distance to NYP.
