Responsibilities

• Provide customer service by carrying out site-specific access control procedures, verifying credentials and/or visitor authorization, and documenting entries and exits at a government location.
• Monitor access points, assist residents, visitors, contractors, and/or staff with entry procedures, and help to deter unauthorized access through attentive observation and reporting.
• Respond to incidents, unusual activity, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and communicate with site contacts and/or emergency personnel as needed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols around buildings, grounds, and perimeter areas, noting security-related concerns and reporting conditions that may require follow-up.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Pass a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licenses may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license may be required for driving positions only.
