Security Compliance Technical Writer

Piper Companies is seeking a Security Compliance Technical Writer to support a leading cybersecurity and networking technology organization. This is a long-term contract opportunity allowing you to work remotely in EST hours.

About the role

The Security Compliance Technical Writer will develop certification and compliance documentation, conduct regulatory research, and partner with engineering teams to support global security certification initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development, review, and maintenance of certification documentation, including Security Targets, guidance documents, and compliance reports.
• Research Common Criteria, EUCC standards, and evolving government security requirements.
• Edit complex technical content to ensure clarity, accuracy, and compliance.
• Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and third-party labs to gather technical information.
• Create templates and documentation standards to improve certification workflows.
• Support multiple documentation projects in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

• 3+ years of technical writing experience in a technology, cybersecurity, networking, or compliance environment.
• Strong documentation, editing, and research skills.
• Familiarity with Common Criteria (CC) and EU Common Criteria (EUCC) frameworks.
• Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, audit-ready documentation.
• Working knowledge of networking technologies, including security, routing/switching, cloud, and datacenter environments.
• Experience with Cisco technologies and CCNA or CCNP knowledge is preferred.

Pay

$90,000 - $115,000 based on experience.
