About the role

The Recovery Room RN / Same Day Surgery RN (PACU & SDS RN) provides professional nursing care in accordance with accepted standards of practice and AVH policy. Utilizes the Nursing Process to assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care. The PACU RN works in support of the medical staff treatment plan and makes recommendations for changes to medical treatment plan as appropriate. The PACU RN educates patients and family around the plan of care and disease management. The PACU RN actively supports the nursing philosophy by striving for excellence in patient care, professional development, interpersonal relations, time management, and continuous quality improvement.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care using the Nursing Process
• Support medical staff treatment plans and recommend changes when appropriate
• Educate patients and families on care plans and disease management
• Promote excellence in patient care, professional development, interpersonal relations, time management, and continuous quality improvement

Requirements

• Associate degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Unrestricted license to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of Colorado, or ability to obtain prior to start date
• Basic Life Support (BLS) – may be obtained upon hire
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
• 2+ years of relevant nursing experience (PACU, ICU, ED, step‑down, etc.)

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s (BSN) or Master’s (MSN) in Nursing preferred
• Experience with EPIC preferred
• Bilingual in Spanish preferred
• Equivalent combinations of experience and education will be considered

Pay

Compensation range: $51.04 – $81.67 per hour. Night and weekend shift differentials up to $10 per hour. The listed range is an estimate; final compensation will be based on qualifications, years of experience, education, and relevant certifications.

Schedule

Full‑time, 12‑hour shifts. Short‑term seasonal position with an anticipated start date of November 30, 2026 and an expected end date of April 4, 2027.
