About the role

Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital is hiring an Experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU). The PACU is a 20-bed Same Day Surgery Unit. We are seeking nurses with a minimum of 2 years of acute or critical care experience.

Hours of operation: 5:00 am – 7:30 pm. 8- or 9-hour shifts; no weekends or holidays. On-call is required and will be reviewed during the interview.

Responsibilities

The Registered Nurse (RN) provides comprehensive, patient-centered care in a dynamic healthcare setting. This role involves:

• Assessing patient needs
• Developing individualized care plans
• Delivering treatments
• Supporting patients and families with education and compassionate service
• Collaborating within an interdisciplinary team to monitor patient progress
• Making clinical adjustments and advocating for the best patient outcomes
• Ensuring safety and adherence to evidence-based practices

Requirements

• ADN required; BSN or higher preferred
• VA or compact state RN license in good standing
• Minimum of 2 years of ICU, CCU, or PACU experience
