About the role
The Seasonal Chef Instructor at Sur La Table will be responsible for teaching cooking classes to customers in a fun and engaging manner. This position offers an opportunity to share culinary knowledge and passion while working in a dynamic retail environment.
Responsibilities
- Teach cooking classes to customers, focusing on various cuisines and techniques.
- Ensure all classes are conducted in a safe and hygienic environment.
- Engage with customers to provide personalized recommendations and answer questions about products.
- Help maintain the cleanliness and organization of the cooking area.
Requirements
- At least 1 year of experience in a food service or teaching environment.
- Knowledge of basic cooking techniques and ingredients.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Skills
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Ability to multitask and manage multiple classes simultaneously.
- Basic computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office.
