About the role

The Seasonal Chef Instructor at Sur La Table will be responsible for teaching cooking classes to customers in a fun and engaging manner. This position offers an opportunity to share your culinary expertise and passion for food.

Responsibilities

  • Teach cooking classes to customers in a variety of formats including hands-on demonstrations and group instruction.
  • Develop and maintain a positive customer experience by providing excellent service and addressing customer needs.
  • Collaborate with other team members to ensure smooth operations and customer satisfaction.
  • Participate in staff meetings and training sessions to stay updated on product knowledge and company policies.

Requirements

  • At least 1 year of experience in a professional kitchen setting.
  • Valid Food Handler’s Permit.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and evenings.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Culinary Arts, Hospitality Management, or related field preferred.
  • Experience in teaching or instructing others.
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.

Skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask and manage multiple priorities.
  • Proficiency in using kitchen equipment and tools.
