About the role
The Seasonal Chef Instructor at Sur La Table is responsible for teaching cooking classes to customers in a fun and engaging manner. This position offers an opportunity to share your culinary skills and passion for food with others.
Responsibilities
- Teach cooking classes to customers, focusing on various cuisines and techniques.
- Prepare and present recipes in a clear and concise manner.
- Ensure all safety protocols are followed during class preparation and execution.
- Engage with customers to provide personalized recommendations and answer questions about ingredients and cooking methods.
- Assist with maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area.
Requirements
- A minimum of 2 years of professional cooking experience.
- Experience teaching cooking classes or similar customer-facing roles.
- Valid Food Handler’s Permit.
- Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and evenings.
Qualifications
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Passion for food and a desire to share that passion with others.
- Ability to multi-task and manage time effectively.
- Knowledge of basic cooking techniques and a variety of cuisines.
Skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to adapt to different learning styles and group sizes.
- Basic computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office.
