Responsibilities

  • Buils and maintains relationships within an assigned territory

  • Evaluates inland marine and related property risks
  • Assesses intricate risks across various industries
  • Develops comprehensive risk management plans
  • Interprets complex financial data
  • Evaluates financial stability
  • Develops complex policies
  • Balances comprehensive coverage with accurate pricing
  • Utilizes endorsements and specialized coverage options
  • Aligns coverages offered with appropriately developed coverage terms, limits, and pricing
  • Ensures adherence to company standards and regulatory requirements
  • Engages appropriate internal and external stakeholders
  • Operates with a continuous improvement mindset
  • Offers suggestions for process efficiencies
  • Maintains knowledge of insurance laws and regulations
  • Ensures policies meet legal requirements
  • Provides guidance on complex compliance issues
  • Creates detailed and organized documentation
  • Applies intermediate-level sales acumen
  • Conducts negotiations, prospecting and qualifying, solution development, and competitive analysis
  • Manages agency relationships and submission flow
  • Builds strong relationships with agency partners
  • Prepares for and conducts effective agency review meetings

Qualifications

  • 2-5 years of inland marine insurance underwriting experience
  • Ability to work independently in an entrepreneurial environment
  • Intermediate-level underwriting analysis, coverage, and pricing skills
  • Intermediate-level underwriting process and compliance skills
  • Intermediate-level distribution management skills
  • Intermediate-level sales acumen
  • Intermediate-level skills in collaboration, customer focus, personal growth, innovation, critical thinking, and accountability
  • Proficiency in underwriting analysis, coverage analysis, and pricing analysis
  • Skills in underwriting process management and regulatory compliance
  • Experience in distribution management, sales, account management, business development, and relationship management
  • Strong negotiation, prospecting and qualifying, risk assessment, and financial analysis capabilities
  • Demonstrated critical thinking, customer focus, collaboration, innovation, and accountability
  • Education Requirement: College degree or equivalent job-related experience
